Midnight Snow
Yesterday's wind and rain turned to heavy snow that blanketed us in white. This is what it looked like at midnight, inspiring a little poem. Hope you like it.

Midnight Snow
And why not a midnight hike in the snow?
It lies fresh and white, inviting me,
With high careful steps, to trod it low,
Stomping and tromping around unseen.
Don't speak to me of purity and postcards.
Don't warn of coughs and colds I'll get.
No one will see trespass in their yards;
It's plainly not done snowing yet.
The light of dawn won't give me away.
The prints will all be filled with white.
I'll make my coffee, go about my day,
And no one will know what I did last night.

This morning, everything was just beautiful. What a marvelous snowfall. I wish I had more time this week to enjoy it outside, perhaps a snowy hike at Woldumar Nature Center. Alas, two big projects remain for me, and both are indoor ones. But I'm comforted by the hope that this will be a very snowy winter with lots of time for hiking and playing outside.

Oh it looks so womderful, I am such a big kid I still love the snow. We got snowed in last year for three blissful days!
I so wish I could got to Fenner or Woldumar today. This heavy snow would be beautiful on the pines at Woldumar.
Wow. Such peacefulness.
