writing
Back in July, before we left for a week at Camp Lake Louise, I wrote this. I was frustrated.
Then while I was sweating it out at camp during the hottest week of the year, I started a novel.
In early August, I wrote this. I was fearful.
Then yesterday, on my 32nd birthday, I finished a novel.
Frustration and fear were removed from the process of writing. And for the first time in my life, after half a dozen attempts or more, I finished a novel.
What a great birthday gift. Thank you, God.
Oh, and by the way, I can already check something off my goals list for 2012. Take that, mediocrity!
Wow, you have finished a novel!!! How do you manage it all, very inspiring, I look forward to seeing the progress with your novel. x x x
Congratulations! Your post from August reminded me of a situation I encountered while in an art class. For an hour I drew, erased, drew, erased. When the instructor came by to check on me, she looked with surprise at my blank page. I very quickly told her that I had been drawing, but I've also been erasing. She sat down to do a quick sketch. As I looked at her sketch, I thought, that's no better than what I've been erasing. She left and returned to see a page completely full of images. I broke through and allowed myself to just do. I am so very proud of you. Once again. Congratulations.
