Winter Beauty
Whether or not you like cold weather and snow, you cannot deny that winter is a season that is filled with an exquisite kind of quiet beauty.
Outside the pristine snow and cold, thin air seem to hold all of nature in a state of repose. Inside, we adorn our homes with warm lights, cozy blankets, and a little bit of greenery to remind us that spring comes again at its intended time.
THE SNOW
It sifts from leaden sieves,
It powders all the wood,
It fills with alabaster wool
The wrinkles of the road.
It makes an even face
Of mountain and of plain,—
Unbroken forehead from the east
Unto the east again.
It reaches to the fence,
It wraps it, rail by rail,
Till it is lost in fleeces;
It flings a crystal veil
On stump and stack and stem,—
The summer's empty room,
Acres of seams where harvests were,
Recordless, but for them.
It ruffles wrists of posts,
As ankles of a queen,—
Then stills its artisans like ghosts,
Denying they have been.
~Emily Dickinson, 1891

That is an incredible photo of the snow flakes! I have two questions: What is the snow sitting on?? And, what are the specifications of your macro lens?? :)
The snowflakes are on the arm of our wood outdoor furniture (which I summarily brushed off and covered before any more snow came) and my macro is 35mm, 1:3.5.
